iTunedIN | Finally… MADONNA to Release Greatest Hits REMIX Package

Celebrating 50 #1 Hits that revolutionized the dance genre, Madonna has announced that this summer she’s turning up the heat on the turntables with a Greatest Hits Remix project Finally Enough Love.

Get into the groove…just in time! With a career that has spanned as many decades as Madonna has, her dominance over the dance floor has never gone without notice. The Queen of Pop was among one of the earliest adopters of the “remix” culture, having courted DJs and remix producers from her days bopping all across Manhattan’s club scene with her demo cassette in hand looking for just the right opportunity. In the fall of 1982, Sire Records captured that lightning in a bottle and released “Everybody” prompting all of us to “dance and sing”.

That debut single didn’t even feature Madonna on the cover art, but it immediately super-charged the pop-dance culture and was produced by DJ Mark Kamins who played it during one of his sets at Danceteria in New York City. “Everybody” opened the door and also got Madonna onto the Dance Charts; she followed up its success with “Burning Up”. Both tracks were heavily into the synth-pop sound of the early 80s that was gaining traction in the mainstream, but it was Madonna’s infusion of R&B beats that brought her out on top.

Ever since Madonna has never missed a beat and has often been the groundbreaker. She capped off her first decade as a pop artist with “Vogue” (1989) which brought the uniquely underground dance out of obscurity and into the world spotlight and set off a firestorm. Her next full-length album, Erotica took a page from the popularization of house and dance across all mediums and is regarded as one of her best works. Released in 1992 it featured collaborations with Shep Pettibone who also pulled the strings on “Vogue” and gave Madonna multiple dance chart-toppers.

Her career would continue to prove landmark and most recently Madonna made history once again as the first and only recording artist to have 50 #1 hits on any single Billboard chart, punctuated by her relentless innovation to dance music. In celebration of these hits, Madonna has collected her favorites for Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones a 50-track curation of remixes spanning her career, many of which will be commercially available for the first time. As a “first listen” to this collection of hits, the “Into The Groove” (You Can Dance Remix Edit) is available now…
