Man’s mission to the galaxy’s final frontier continues on course as is evident from the Trailer to STAR TREK: Strange New Worlds as the USS Enterprise’s missions begin in May in the new Original Series from Paramount+.
Space is a wonderful place. In its infinite combinations and infinite diversity, the early days of Gene Roddenbery’s most beloved starship, the USS Enterprise are getting a polish and revisit in the upcoming Original Series STAR TREK: Stranger New Worlds premiering in May, on Paramount+. The spin-off from the contemporary trek that relaunched it all, Star Trek: Discovery, Stranger New Worlds reintroduces audiences to the crew of Starfleet’s most celebrated vessel and one (or maybe two) of its captains that pioneered the most exciting space adventures ever known.
In the stunning Season One cliffhanger of ST: Discovery, after a harrowing return from the nefarious Mirror-Universe, the crew of the Discovery is welcomed back by the USS Enterprise. The ship’s captain, Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) reveals that together they must embark on a perilous mission that only Micheal Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) can help them solve. Bearing the very same silhouette of its Original Series predecessor, the Enterprise though outfitted to fit alongside Discovery and its other 23rd Century contemporary, is every bit a marvel!
Throughout the following season, the crews joined forces, and fans were reintroduced to Star Trek favorites including the Enterprise’s Number One (Rebecca Romijn) and its Vulcan science officer Spock (Ethan Peck) whom we learn is related to Burnham, bringing the legacy of these two iterations of trek together. It was clear that audiences weren’t ready to part ways with Pike and that the legendary missions of the Federation’s most famous starship would have to be revisited. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is putting the spotlight back on the crew that started it all — kind of.
